Why do we spend our whole life waiting? We´re waiting for the next weekend, vacation, for school to be over, the apprenticeship being over, having finished studying. We are waiting for someone to reply to our texts, to call back. We are waiting for our crush to notice us, for our parents to realise that we´ve grown up, for finally meeting our favourite celebrities.
We spend our whole life waiting for it to finally begin.
Why do we do that? What do we want to achieve by that?
Why can´t we just stop waiting for a moment and cherish the little things we have? Like the fact that today, right now is happening and I am right here, being able to do anything I could imagine. School is preparing us for later but of what use are the lessons if we ignore them because we´re too busy to wait for later to happen. If someone doesn´t reply straight away they are probably busy with something else, maybe with being happy about their life (or homework) - you are not the only person in their life and they are not the only one in yours. Your crush will notice you if they are the right one - and if they are not than it´s only best for you to stop waiting and start being happy on your own; you are leading your own life and no one should have the power to make you upset. And our parents? They love us and want only the best for their little sweetheart. And that is what everyone will stay for the rest of their life: the little sweetheart of their parents. No matter how old, even your parents are still vulnerable and tiny to their own parents. And then there are celebrities: They don´t need us to be happy, they´re leading their own life and we are just side characters in their book. They are the football player and we are nothing but the people in the stadium, screaming their names. And just as they don´t need us, we don´t need them to be happy. All we have to do is realize exactly that.
Be patient. Stop for a moment. Right now. Stop reading this and think about every little miracle that happens to you day after day. I bet you´ve got quite something together. And now repeat that every time you realise that you waste your life waiting for something that shouldn´t keep you from living your life.
I love you. I care about you. Stay safe.
