Hey my gorgeous Snowglobes!
I know, I know: I should post more than I currently am. But my apprenticeship isn´t the easiest one and when I´m finally home, I just want to relax most of the time. So that´s why you hear so little of me (I still have to edit and upload a YouTube video and shoot another one, too ...).
BUT: as work is getting in my way of being present on the internet, I decided that the internet is here (if you´re a Phan you´ll get the reference XD) to rumble about everything, so today I´m talking about my work.
I´m an apprentice and training to become a specialist in media and information services, on the subject of libraries. Long name, I know. And no, it is not the same as a librarian. Main difference: You´ve got to study to become a librarian, but what I´m doing is just an apprenticeship. Also we get less money XD I love my job nonetheless (even after only 3 months of work).
What am I actually doing? Well, I´m working in different departments throughout the next three years. Until now I´ve been in the department called "media services", where I´ve issued library cards, accounted the borrowing and return of books and learned stuff like what happens when a book is missing and if our customers don´t pay their fees. I loved it there so much! We rotated every hour, so that you´ve never worked too long at the same thing and had a change between working with customers and working on your own.
The last three weeks I´ve attended vocational school. It was alright. But I love my English lessons! The teacher is amazing, I really like her. She´s got something about her - her character is worth being studied for a character in my book perhaps. And I´ve been asked about three or four times if I´ve spend a lot of time in England, because of my accent. The reaction is always funny when I say that I´ve literally been there for only a week and that three years ago already :D
Now I´m in a divided department - partly in the area where all the books and the customers are (where I shelf books and magazines - how challenging, I hope they have something a tad more difficult in store as well - and where they explain me operations for lost books and co.) and the area of the procurement of the books (where I´ve got nothing to do as well because we´re getting a new computer system for the library called "Alma" and that means that most operations are temporarily frozen). It´s quite alright there though. I mean I´ve only been there for the third day today. And the shelving is actually quite fun. And I´m nevertheless quite sure that I´ve found my dream job.
Let´s see what the future holds in store.
So that was it from me for today. I´ll try to write something else soon, I promise!
Love you, peeps. And always remember: You are not alone. Stay safe and cherish the little things. I believe in and care about you.
